“A male first name that can be used to signify a love for words, music and moments of humanity.” Jali is a charismatic resident of Brussels who has Rwandan roots. As well as being his stage name and an anagram of his family name, Jali is the name of a hill in Rwanda, the country in the heart of Africa where he was born in 1988.
His heart felt French lyrics are delivered with a pure voice, smooth flow, a handful of guitar chords and percussion. The style ranges from folk and blues to reggae.
Jali’s high potential was confirmed with the launch of his first album Des Jours Et Des Lunes in October on the prestigious Barclay label.
And he has already produced a hit: Espanola, a topical song about immigration that is a big success on the French Belgian radio. He received the award ‘Artist of the Year’ Les Octaves de la Musique (the French-speaking version of the Grammy’s organised by the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles). ….
