Bomba Estereo
Colombia
“…an infectiously danceable sound that often expands into fairly trippy territory”, according to The New York Times. Dexter-fans may have already heard Bomba Estéreo as soundtrack during the episode Circle Us (5th season). In South America everyone is wild about the cumbia/dance mix that these Colombians put through the wringer. They describe their music as Electro Vacilón (crazy electro fun) or Electro tropical. Their energetic cumbia-sound is often compared with that of Portuguese counterpart Buraka Som Sistema. Two years ago MTV was extolling them as Best New Band in the World. They're sure to brew a hot sweaty party at Couleur Café with their mish-mash of cumbia, dub, Peruvian chicha, hiphop, dancehall and psychedelic beats. Not to be missed under any circumstances!
